Abstract:
Neutron stars (NSs) are extremely compact objects in the Universe and serve as ideal laboratories for studying dense matter and strong-field gravity. The equation of state of NSs is currently poorly understood due to our lack of knowledge about non-perturbative QCD. Moreover, to provide a realistic description of matter, we need to consider various factors such as superfluidity, strong magnetic fields, elasticity, and neutrino physics. Therefore, understanding the composition and state of matter under extreme conditions inside NSs presents a great challenge in both fundamental physics and astrophysics.
In this talk, I will present our studies on rotating, tidally-deformed, and precessing NSs. I will also discuss how to use radio, X-ray, and gravitational-wave observations to study these scenarios and thereby probe the equation of state of NSs.
